A Tale of Betrayal and Revenge

The gripping narrative of Red Ninja: End of Honor was shaped through a collaboration between Tranji Studios and acclaimed Japanese screenwriter Shinsuke Sato.

Born in Hiroshima in 1970, Sato studied filmmaking at Musashino University of the Arts. He gained early acclaim with No Misbehavior In The Dorm, which won the PFF94 Grand Prix Award. His later films, including Tsukishima Capriccio and Bound For The Front Gate, received strong critical reception across Japan.

Sato’s talents caught the attention of director Jun Ichikawa, who commissioned him to write for Tokyo Lullaby, Tadon to Chikuwa, and Zawazawa Shimokitazawa. He later penned the screenplay for Sunflower, directed by Isao Yukisada.

In 2001, Sato made his directorial debut with Love Song. His second major feature, Princess Blade, helped establish the stylized cinematic tone that would later inspire the storytelling of Red Ninja.
